Highlights of Cataluña: Sant Cugat (Part 1)

In this new series highlighting my photos from Spain, I will be featuring an important town in Cataluña, an important regional, historical and cultural area.  The town Sant Cugat is a very interesting town for anyone near the city of Barcelona.  A Sant Cugat hotel describes the town this way:

"Sant Cugat is an open and welcoming city with a rich heritage and with a wide range of recreational and cultural activities. The monastery is the architectural jewel and greatest hallmark of the city. The houses, chapels and listed buildings are also identifying features.

Known for its quality of life, propelled by a beautiful natural setting and balanced urbanism, surrounded by urban parks and large green zones to stroll through and enjoy.

The development of industrial and economic activity shapes this dynamic city, with city organisations and associations, equipped with modern infrastructures and strong links to Catalonia and Europe. The implementation of large service companies is favoured, and serves to consolidate high-quality local business. Furthermore, it is a predominantly young city, with a high level of training. All of this has made Sant Cugat both a modern city and a city of quality
."
