"Place the Highest Value on Relationships"
The first chapter of this book begins with this very important thought. It is this major idea that is seen clearly throughout the chapter. The reference verse for this chapter is Mark 12:29-31, which states,
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
What strike me the most in this chapter is the attention paid to the importance of relationships in life. He states " nothing is more important that relationships". He continues to echo this point when he says that
"your relationships with God and others will last all the way into eternity".
In conclusion, the first chapter is very powerful. To end the chapter, he states his main emphasis from the beginning of the chapter: "Place the highest value on relationships."
I can already sense what God will accomplish in my life through this 40 day bible study.
