The Relationship Principles of Jesus: Day 3

"Love God with all your heart."

In chapter three, the author talks about the practical ways in which one can love God with their whole heart.  The first major idea brought up is that "God`s principles don`t change our lives...It is your faith in God`s principles that changes your life."  The author makes this point to show the role that God plays in acting out his principles in our lives.

The author continues this amazing chapter by stating that loving God contains all of our heart, soul, mind and strength.  These parts of our life deal with our decisions, actions, and feelings.  To echo this sentiment, the author brings up the example of David and how he spoke daily to God throughout his psalms.  The seven elements by which one can pray more emotionally listed are: 1) Talk to God about your feelings, 2) Talk to God about your weaknesses, 3) Talk to God about his strengths, 4) Tell God your fears, 5) Pour out to God the desires of your heart, 6) openly and emotionally admit your sins to God, and 7) say out loud what you know to be true

To end the chapter, the author has a powerful point to ponder: "The path to putting God first starts with the word all."

"Seek first God`s kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" Matthew 6:33
