The Relationship Principles of Jesus: Day 5

In Chapter 5,

Tom Holladay, the author of "The Relationship Principles of Jesus" deals with the theme "Love God with all your mind and strength."  This phrase comes from Jesus and his commandment to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength,

"With all your mind"
The author begins this section by breaking down what it truly means to love God with all your mind.  Using Philippians 4:8, hr 8 specific virtues mentioned by Paul.  The eight values are 1) Meditating on God`s truth (Whatever is true), 2) Appreciate God`s worth (whatever is noble), 3) Cooperate with God`s plans (whatever is right), 4) Appropriate God`s cleansing (whatever is pure), 5) Anticipate God`s abundance (whatever is lovely), 6) Communicate God`s encouragement (whatever is admirable), 7) Be motivated by God`s greatness (if anything is excellent), and 8) Celebrate God`s goodness (if anything is praiseworthy).

"With all your strength
The author begins this section by stating three important truths: 1) You must have complete confidence that God can do absolutely anything, 2) You must be completely convinced that you can do absolutely nothing of ultimate and eternal significance without the power of Jesus Christ, and 3) You must trust God to turn your weakness into his strength.

To finish off this powerful section, the author finishes off with a great prayer.
"Father, you know how I`m feeling about myself right now. I`m tired of pretending I`m strong, so I ask you to use me in my weakness. I trust in your strength: when I am weak, you are strong."
