Highlights of Valencia: Iglesia de los Santos Juanes

Greetings,

In Valencia, there are many historic buildings, including multiple churches.  One of those churches is the Iglesia de los Santos Juanes, a church that is the oldest church within the city of Valencia still standing today.  A tourism website for the city of Valencia describes the church in this manner: "The Santos Juanes church is one of the oldest in Valencia. It is also known as the church of San Juan del Mercado (Saint John of the Market). It was built in the 14th century and its original architecture is gothic in style. However, there was a terrible fire in 1552 and the interior was completely refurbished. When you enter, be sure to look up at the huge dome crowning the church and the beautiful frescos decorating it." (http://www.valencia-cityguide.com/tourist-attractions/churches/iglesia-de-los-santos-juanes.html).

When I was visiting Valencia, the church was not open to visitors.  However, I was able to get some photos of the church when I was walking past it.  I hope that you enjoy the photos below.
