Welcome all,
It has now been a whole day that I have been in the States. Yesterday, I returned to the US from Spain. I went to a Cracker Barrel in Maryland and enjoyed free refills of peach tea. After that, I returned to my house and started to unpack. The upside: most of my non-book gifts are with me. The downside: I have to wait for a 7 kilo package to arrive to my house from Spain. This contains the books I got in multiple sites I visited within Spain (Tortosa, Valencia, Granada, Cordoba, Salamanca and Madrid).
My next task will be going through 5512 photos/videos...enough to fill up a 8 gig card on my camera. I will doing a multi-post series highlighting the best photos from my trip as I unpack my card.
A tradition of mine is that I like to post a song or prayer that has been going through my mind. Today`s song is "Dismantle, Repair" by Anberlin. The theme obviously has an "eb-and-blow" to its lyrics. It talks about the breaking and repairing of the singer by a person. Being a college graduate who doesn`t have a clear path to postgraduate paths, I can only do what is the most closest step to me. The future will bring what the future brings. Below are the lyrics for the song.
One last glance from a taxi cab
Images scar my mind
Four weeks've felt like years
Since your full attention was all mine
The night was young and so were we
Talked about life, God, death, and your family
Didn't want any promises,
Just my undivided honesty, and you said
Oh oh, things are gonna change now for the better
Oh oh, things are gonna change, oh, they're gonna change
I am the patron saint of lost causes
A fraction of who I once believed (change)
only a matter of time
Opinions I would try and rewrite
If life had background music playing your song
I've got to be honest, I tried to escape you
But the orchestra plays on, and they sang
Oh oh, things are gonna change now for the better
Oh oh, things are gonna change
[Chorus 2x]
Hands, like secrets, are the hardest thing to keep from you
Lines and phrases, like knives, your words can cut me through
Dismantle me down (repair)
You dismantle me
You dismantle me
Give me time to prove
Prove I want the rest of yours (prelude)
Call this a prelude to a lifetime of you
It's not that I hang on every word
I hang myself on what you repeat
It's not that I keep hanging on
I'm never letting go
[Chorus 2x]
Hands, like secrets, are the hardest thing to keep from you
Lines and phrases, like knives, your words can cut me through
Dismantle me down (repair)
You dismantle me
You dismantle me
Save me from myself
Save me from myself
Help me save me from myself
Save me from myself
Oh oh, things are gonna change now for the better
Oh oh, things are gonna change
[Chorus 4x]
Hands, like secrets, are the hardest thing to keep from you
Lines and phrases, like knives, your words can cut me through
Dismantle me down (repair)
You dismantle me
You dismantle me
